[Concall] Samsung Electronics "PC and Server DDR5 DRAM Share 20%... Expected to Increase in Second Half"
On the 27th, Samsung Electronics stated in its Q1 earnings conference call that "the adoption plans for DDR5 by customers are still fluid," adding, "As of now, the adoption rate of DDR5 among the total PC and server DRAM demand is showing an increasing trend, reaching the low 20% range. This is very similar to our initial forecast."
They continued, "A decrease in bit productivity due to the transition to DDR5 is inevitable," and said, "Since DDR5 is a new product with currently low inventory levels, additional demand is expected in the second half of the year. In line with the increasing demand, we will accelerate the transition to advanced process nodes for DDR5 in the second half to continuously enhance product competitiveness."
