He further stated, "If the victim tenants wish to directly bid on the house they currently reside in, they will be granted the right of first refusal." If they prefer to live in a rental format, the plan is for public institutions such as the Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH) to acquire the right of first refusal and exercise it (purchase the house), then provide it as public rental housing.
Regarding the public purchase advocated by the opposition party, he said, "It is equivalent to using taxpayers' money to return the deposits stolen by fraudsters," adding, "It goes against legal principles and common sense, and is a method that the majority of the public cannot accept."
Minister Won urged, "To swiftly relieve the victims from their suffering, we must not waste time with irresponsible and impractical claims," and appealed, "The opposition party should not try to hide past policy failures by pushing for public purchases, but rather join in enacting a feasible special law that the public can agree with."
