Yakult Delivery Manager Appointed as Honorary Social Welfare Officer... Ilgwang-eup, Gijang Launches 'Hope Nareumi' Initiative
Ilgwang-eup, Community Security Council, and Korea Yakult Gijang Branch Sign Public-Private Cooperation Agreement
Ilgwang-eup in Gijang-gun, Busan, is promoting the health drink support project "Hope Narmi" to prevent solitary deaths and improve the health of local residents.
To promote this project, Ilgwang-eup and the Ilgwang-eup Community Security Council signed a public-private cooperation agreement with Korea Yakult (hy) Gijang branch to implement a region-specific project.
Under this agreement, Ilgwang-eup, the Ilgwang-eup Community Security Council, and hy Gijang branch will deliver health drinks twice a week to 20 single-person households without support until the end of this year.
In addition, the delivery manager belonging to hy Gijang branch will be appointed as an honorary social welfare officer of Ilgwang-eup to share welfare crisis information of low-income vulnerable groups and promptly provide support in case of emergencies, with the three organizations actively cooperating to discover welfare blind spots.

Jo Woo-jin, mayor of Ilgwang-eup, said, "Through this agreement, we have established a safety net to improve the health of local residents, prevent solitary deaths, which have recently become a problem, and resolve welfare blind spots," adding, "We expect this to greatly help enhance the welfare awareness of local residents."
