Yakult Delivery to Elderly Living Alone in Chungjang-dong, Dong-gu, Gwangju
The Community Security Council of Chungjang-dong, Dong-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City has started the 'Healthy Drink Yakult Delivery' project targeting low-income elderly living alone in the area.
The council plans to deliver Yakult to 40 elderly individuals three times a week for nine months, from this month until December.
It is expected to prevent solitary deaths by checking on the well-being of elderly living alone and enhancing their emotional stability.

Seon Jong-cheol, chairman of the council, said, "I am proud to be able to resume the project that started in 2019 and was suspended for a while due to COVID-19," adding, "I hope this small effort will be of help to the elderly living alone."
