Kyungsung University HK+ Project Group Operates 'Traditional Woodblock Printing Course as Regular Curriculum'
The HK+ Project Group of the Korean Hanja Research Institute at Kyungsung University is offering a "Traditional Woodblock Carving Regular Course" to enhance local residents' understanding of traditional woodblock carving and increase their interest in the humanities.
This traditional woodblock carving course will be held from May 1 to August 28, every Monday from 2 PM to 6 PM, spanning 15 weeks. Lectures will not be held on substitute holidays and bridge holidays.
The lectures will be led by An Jun-young, director of the Jeonju Wanpanbon Culture Center, who has achieved outstanding results in the field of traditional woodblock carving.
The course will cover the basics of intaglio carving, allowing participants to create and exhibit their own works using letters and pictures. The curriculum consists of ▲making carving tools ▲basics of intaglio carving ▲intaglio letters ▲intaglio pictures ▲and the exhibition of works.

View original imageStudents who complete this course will be qualified to participate in the upcoming Oracle Bone Script Thousand Character Classic carving project.
Applications can be submitted through the Korean Hanja Research Institute Regional Humanities Center website. Up to 25 participants can enroll, and if there are many applicants, priority will be given to those who have diligently completed other courses at the Regional Humanities Center. Otherwise, enrollment will be on a first-come, first-served basis.
