A Man in His 60s Forced a Kiss on a Colleague: Prison Sentence in First Trial → Suspended Sentence in Second Trial
The fish farm manager, who was sentenced to prison in the first trial for forcibly molesting a female colleague, was released on probation in the appellate court.
The Gwangju District Court's 2nd Criminal Division (Presiding Judge Kim Young-ah) overturned the original verdict in the appeal trial of A (62), who was charged with forcible molestation, and sentenced him to 8 months in prison with a 2-year probation.
He was also ordered to attend 40 hours of sexual violence treatment lectures.
A was prosecuted for forcibly molesting a female colleague at the building of the Yeong-eo Cooperative Corporation in Wando-gun, Jeollanam-do, in February 2019.
He forcibly kissed her and made her touch specific parts of his body.
After this incident, the victim reportedly suffered from worsening depression due to mental shock and received psychiatric treatment.
During the first trial, A consistently made excuses to avoid responsibility, but in the second trial, he confessed to his charges.
