Seoul Headquarters, Legal Inspection and Major Equipment Check under the Nuclear Safety Act
Saeul Nuclear Power Plant Unit 1 has ceased power generation and entered inspection.
Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Saeul Nuclear Headquarters (Head: Jo Seok-jin) announced on the 16th at 10 a.m. that it has stopped power generation of the 1.4 million kW pressurized water reactor Saeul Unit 1 and commenced the 4th planned preventive maintenance.
During the planned preventive maintenance period, Saeul Unit 1 will undergo statutory inspections according to the Nuclear Safety Act, fuel replacement, and inspection and maintenance of major equipment and facilities.

After completing various statutory inspections and conformity verification procedures by relevant agencies, and receiving operational approval from the Nuclear Safety and Security Commission, power generation is expected to resume in June.
