Spray Attack Targeting Women Walking Alone
"Be Careful"... Reports of Incidents Continue on SNS
Recently, there have been repeated attacks in Bangkok, Thailand, where red paint or spray is thrown on the pants of women walking alone, prompting travelers to exercise extra caution.
According to Thai media The Tiger on the 4th, there have been consecutive attacks by a man spraying red paint on the pants of women passing by for no apparent reason in the Bangna area of Bangkok.
One female victim posted a warning message saying "Be careful" on social media on the 30th of last month, along with a photo of pants covered in red paint. She added, "It was so scary. I was getting off at the Bearing BTS station when suddenly a man approached me, sprayed red paint on my pants, and quickly ran away."
On the 2nd, another woman posted a photo of her friend's pants covered in red paint, saying her friend experienced a similar incident while walking on a road in the same area. Another woman also posted that she suffered the same damage, stating she was attacked by a man holding a bottle of alcohol. Many other women commented that they had experienced the same damage in the Bangna area.
One of the victims revealed that after being attacked on the 1st, she observed the perpetrator's movements from a distance and noticed that he targeted women walking alone wearing light-colored pants.
One woman even deliberately visited the place where she was attacked to collect evidence to report to the police. However, the perpetrator recognized her and fled the scene. She said, "I have to walk through this area every day, but I am afraid of becoming a target again."
Meanwhile, many female victims believe that the perpetrator is the same man who was arrested four months ago at Samrong station for spraying blue paint on women. At that time, the man reportedly claimed that he committed the act due to severe stress.
