HL Group announced on the 31st that it awarded a total of 15 million KRW in scholarships to academically outstanding students at Yangseo High School in Yangpyeong, Gyeonggi Province.
Since 2009, the Inyoung-Wolgye Scholarship demand event has been held continuously to commemorate the late Jeong Inyoung, the founding chairman of HL Group, and his wife, the late Kim Gyewol, and to carry on the spirit of academic dedication. This year marked the fifteenth event, with a total of 89 students having received scholarships so far. Kim Gwangheon, president of HL Holdings, stated, "We will spare no support in nurturing talented individuals for the nation, as per the school's founding philosophy."
Yangseo High School, established in 1980, is a private high school in Gyeonggi Province designated as a specialized autonomous school for curriculum characteristics in 2017. Based on this year's college admissions, about 30% of the entire graduating class went to prestigious universities such as Seoul National University, Korea University, and Yonsei University.
