Naju-si to Operate 'Visiting Smoking Cessation Clinic' Until November
Naju City in Jeollanam-do is operating the first half of the year’s “Visiting Smoking Cessation Clinic” from this month until November for employees at three public institutions and workplaces within the city.
According to the city on the 29th, the Visiting Smoking Cessation Clinic is part of a health promotion project for workers who have the will to quit smoking but find it difficult to visit the public health center due to work and other circumstances.

The smoking cessation clinic consists of a systematic smoking cessation program held four times at three-week intervals, including smoking cessation registration and expert counseling, support for smoking cessation aids, and cotinine testing.
The institutions targeted in the first half of the year are Korea Electric Power Corporation, Korea Post Information Center, and KBM Co., Ltd. Smoking cessation counselors visit according to the set schedule to provide one-on-one customized smoking cessation clinics.
Participants in the smoking cessation clinic can receive smoking cessation aids such as nicotine patches and nicotine gum, as well as behavioral reinforcement items through counseling.
If they succeed in quitting smoking at three-month and six-month intervals, they will also receive a small commemorative gift.
A public health center official said, “We will provide systematic counseling and management services so that office workers’ determination to quit smoking can lead to action and success,” adding, “We will continue to promote various health promotion programs for local residents to practice healthy living.”
In addition to the Visiting Smoking Cessation Clinic, those who visit the public health center’s smoking cessation clinic can receive smoking cessation counseling and aids.
