This agreement ceremony is a proactive measure by Pohang City to respond to recent jeonse fraud and empty jeonse cases, such as the ‘Villa King case’ and the ‘Three Mothers Jeonse Fraud case,’ which have occurred mainly in the Seoul metropolitan area. Through this agreement, Pohang City has decided to join forces with four related organizations to prevent citizens’ property damage and ensure housing stability.

Although there have been no reported cases of damage due to jeonse fraud so far, the jeonse rate (jeonse price compared to sale price) is high, raising concerns about potential jeonse fraud damage. Therefore, the city plans to produce and distribute promotional materials related to lease contracts, provide telephone counseling, and conduct on-site counseling at universities and other locations.
