Yongin Citizen Sports Center Expands Parking Spaces by 204... 4 Billion Won Invested
Yongin City in Gyeonggi Province has expanded the auxiliary parking lot at the Yongin Citizen Sports Center located in Geumeo-ri, Pogok-eup.
On the 24th, Yongin City announced that it has created a total of 204 parking spaces at the Yongin Citizen Sports Center with an investment of 4 billion KRW.
The Citizen Sports Center is a community convenience facility established alongside the Yongin Environmental Center. It has been in operation since 2010 and is a comprehensive sports facility with an annual attendance of 220,000 users who utilize sports facilities such as swimming, fitness, golf, and squash.
However, recently, complaints about insufficient parking have been raised due to an increase in users and the move-in of large-scale apartment complexes in Pogok and Mohyeon-eup. Additionally, cases of illegal parking near the Citizen Sports Center have increased, causing management difficulties.
With the additional expansion of the parking lot, the Citizen Sports Center can now accommodate a total of 365 vehicles. The newly secured parking spaces include 180 general parking spots, 15 electric vehicle parking spots, 8 disabled parking spots, and 1 bus parking spot.
The city plans to install fast and slow electric vehicle charging facilities by the first half of the year to support eco-friendly vehicles along with the parking lot expansion.
