Busan Gijang-gun Supports Bid for Expo 2030 Busan
‘Festival in Gijang’ Held
Busan's Gijang-gun will hold the event ‘Festival in Gijang’ on April 1 along the Jwagwangcheon Stream in Jeonggwan-eup, Gijang-gun, to pray for the successful bid for the 2030 Busan World Expo.
The event is being promoted to raise residents' interest in the 2030 Busan World Expo and to spread enthusiasm for the bid. It will feature promotional and experience booths, a prayer walk event, pre-ceremony performances, a commemorative ceremony, a concert, and a chorus singing the Expo support CM song.

View original imageThe first part of the performance will include ▲Korean traditional dance performance (Jeonggwan-eup resident autonomy program) ▲Jwagwangcheon prayer walk performance for the Expo bid ▲Gijang Youth Orchestra performance ▲Expo bid English speech ▲vocal and trumpet performances.
The second part, the official ceremony, will include ▲commemorative ceremony ▲performances by Jeonggwan Youth Orchestra, Jeonggwan Women’s Sunshine Choir, Gijang Recorder Ensemble, Gijang Silver Choir, Jeonggwan Boys and Girls Choir, and invited singers, as well as a welcome concert for the International Bureau of Expositions (BIE) on-site inspection team.
The finale will be marked by the ‘2030 Busan World Expo Support CM Song Grand Chorus’ featuring all choir members together.
Additionally, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., experience booths will be operated, including ▲photo zone with Boogi ▲support roulette for bringing the Expo to Busan ▲making Expo fans ▲instant photo zone with Expo dogs ▲watercolor exhibition experience ▲calligraphy class ▲CPR experience ▲calligraphy ▲Boogi face painting ▲hanbok experience and traditional games experience.

Jeong Jong-bok, the mayor of Gijang-gun, said, “This event has been ambitiously prepared to pray for the successful bid of the 2030 Busan World Expo and to create a pan-community participation atmosphere. In preparation for the International Bureau of Expositions on-site inspection, over 850 public officials will devote all administrative efforts with residents’ participation and support.”
