Gwangju Mayor Kang Ki-jung "Welcomes Passage of Daegu-Gyeongbuk New Airport Special Act"
Gwangju Mayor Kang Gi-jung issued a message sincerely welcoming the passage of the "Daegu-Gyeongbuk Integrated New Airport Construction Special Act" through the National Assembly Land, Infrastructure and Transport Committee's bill review subcommittee.
Mayor Kang also stated, "Gwangju City will strive to ensure that the 'Gwangju Military Airport Relocation Special Act' passes promptly through the National Defense Committee's bill review subcommittee, just as Daegu City's bill passed through the standing committee's bill review subcommittee."

He continued, "Gwangju City and Daegu City have signed an agreement to mutually cooperate in enacting related special laws for the relocation of military airports and the construction of the integrated new airport," adding, "Our city will closely cooperate with local political circles and Daegu City to ensure that the 'Gwangju Military Airport Relocation Special Act' and the 'Daegu-Gyeongbuk Integrated New Airport Construction Special Act' are simultaneously submitted to the National Assembly plenary session and enacted together."
