Inauguration of the 2nd Elected Term of Gwangyang City Sports Council
Inaugural Chairman Jeong Si-hwa Steps Down, 2nd Chairman Kim Yong-seo Takes Office
On the 20th, Gwangyang City in Jeollanam-do announced that it held the inauguration and retirement ceremony for the Gwangyang City Sports Association president at the Gwangyang National Sports Center, where Jeong Si-hwa, the first elected president, stepped down and Kim Yong-seo, the second elected president, took office.
About 250 people attended the ceremony, including Jeong In-hwa, Mayor of Gwangyang, Seo Young-bae, Chairman of the Gwangyang City Council, Kim Tae-gyun, Vice Chairman of the Jeollanam-do Provincial Council, provincial and city council members, Song Jin-ho, President of the Jeollanam-do Sports Council, presidents of city and county sports associations in Jeollanam-do, and presidents of town, township, and neighborhood sports associations.
Jeong Si-hwa, the retiring president of the Gwangyang City Sports Association, said, “I congratulate the inauguration of the second elected sports association president team and applaud their love and passion for athletes. I believe this will be an opportunity for the Gwangyang City Sports Association to take another leap forward, and I will support and encourage from behind the scenes.”
Kim Yong-seo, the newly inaugurated second elected president, expressed in his inaugural speech, “I thank the first elected president Jeong Si-hwa for his dedication to sports development and citizens’ health. With the belief that ‘sports is welfare,’ I will make every effort to establish communication channels with the city executive branch and council so that citizens can enjoy happiness.”
Jeong In-hwa, Mayor of Gwangyang, said, “I sincerely thank the first elected president Jeong Si-hwa for his efforts in sports development and promotion. I send congratulations and encouragement to the new president Kim Yong-seo, who is taking office with exceptional ambition and mindset, as well as to all members of the president team.”
