Sancheong Wildfire, Main Fire Extinguished ... Mop-up Operations Underway
Smoke is rising from a fire in a nearby hill in Saengbiryang-myeon, Sancheong-gun, Gyeongnam.

The main fire of the wildfire that occurred in Sancheong-gun, Gyeongnam Province at around 12:45 PM on the 21st was extinguished at around 2:55 PM.
According to Sancheong-gun Office, the fire started near Bultasa in Jebori, Saengbiryang-myeon, and at around 1:55 PM, the Korea Forest Service issued a Level 1 response.
At the scene, 9 helicopters, 28 firefighting vehicles, and 181 firefighters were deployed.
Residents of nearby villages, including Sangneung Village, evacuated to the village hall to avoid the fire and smoke.

The forestry authorities plan to investigate the exact cause of the fire and the extent of the damage as soon as the remaining flames are completely extinguished.
