Yeongju City, Opening Ceremony for Specialized Agricultural Training... Cultivating Experts in Shine Muscat, Grapes, and Apples
16 Years of Producing Agricultural Experts Since the Establishment of the Agricultural College
On the 17th, Yeongju City in Gyeongbuk held the opening ceremony for the 2023 Agricultural Professional Education at the Large Education Hall of the Agricultural Technology Center, targeting 200 farmers cultivating apples, grapes, and Shine Muscat.
The agricultural professional education program runs from March to November, consisting of two courses at the Agricultural University (apple and grape) and one course at Apple School. In February, 100 students were selected for the Agricultural University and 100 for Apple School.
Now in its 16th year, Yeongju Agricultural University was established in 2008 to meet the high-level educational demands of local farmers. It annually produces over 50 top professional farmers in livestock, fruit trees, medicinal herbs, and eco-friendly agriculture, playing a significant role in enhancing regional agricultural competitiveness and increasing farm income.
The apple course at the Agricultural University is conducted annually to continue the reputation of Yeongju apples and to meet the educational needs for improving farmers' management skills.
The Shine Muscat course was newly established this year in response to the nationwide increase in cultivation area and growing local interest. It aims to establish cultivation techniques and produce premium fruits preferred by consumers.
