Gwangju Seo-gu Provides Health Services by Engaging Directly with Residents
Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (Mayor Kim Ikang) is directly visiting residents to provide various health services.
Seo-gu announced on the 17th that it will operate the 'Visiting Integrated Health Camp,' which tours 10 neighborhoods until November.
The health camp took its first step on this day at the Pungam-dong Administrative Welfare Center. The second schedule will be held on the 28th of next month at the Dongcheon-dong Administrative Welfare Center.
Seo-gu has been providing various health services such as oriental medicine treatment and physical therapy at the public health center. However, due to the inconvenience of residents having to visit the health center directly, Seo-gu planned the 'Visiting Integrated Health Camp' together with Gwangju Health University, Seo-gu Pharmaceutical Association, Bora Eye Clinic, and others.
The health camp offers a variety of basic health checkups and consultations, including eye examinations and vision tests, mental health (depression, stress) tests, dementia tests, basic health checks (blood pressure, blood sugar), oriental medicine treatment, physical therapy, education on preventing drug misuse, and tuberculosis screening.
Additionally, through in-depth individual counseling, customized health lifestyle practices such as smoking cessation, nutrition, and exercise are also guided. In particular, for high-risk groups such as those with mental health issues and dementia, follow-up additional tests will be conducted and continuous management will be maintained.
Kim Ikang, Mayor of Seo-gu, said, "Beyond administrative services that require residents to make efforts on their own, proactive administration means that the administration takes a step forward to visit residents and prevent health issues. We will do our best to promote the health of local residents as well as to spread and practice a healthy living culture."
