Serial Arson and Vehicle Theft in Downtown Gwangju... Police Tracking Suspect
A series of arson attacks followed by vehicle theft incidents occurred in downtown Gwangju, and the police are tracking the suspect.
Firefighters are extinguishing a fire that broke out on a cargo truck parked at the edge of an intersection near Yangdong Market in Seo-gu, Gwangju.

According to the fire department and police, around 7 a.m. on the 17th, a fire broke out in the cargo bed of a 1-ton truck parked at the edge of an intersection near Yangdong Market in Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City.
There were no casualties from the fire, but property damage occurred, including the complete burning of the truck's cargo bed.
Additionally, around the same time, a report was received that a pile of waste paper and garbage near Gujeongmaru in Yangdong, Seo-gu, caught fire.
The police confirmed that the consecutive fires were caused by the same individual and are currently pursuing the related suspect.
After the first arson, the suspect stole a truck parked by the roadside to evade police pursuit and drove about 50 meters before colliding with another truck.
Afterwards, without taking further action, the suspect abandoned the vehicle and fled, later setting fire to another truck parked at the roadside.
