SK Shieldus (CEO Park Jin-hyo) announced on the 17th that it will expand the nationwide support project for 'CCTV Home' to prevent residential intrusion crimes in advance and create a safe residential environment.
According to data from the National Police Agency, residential intrusion crimes increased by about 59%, from 11,631 cases in 2016 to 18,440 cases in 2021. The number of arrests for dating violence, which can lead to stalking victimization, also increased by 21.7% compared to the previous year, reaching 12,841 last year. SK Shieldus is working with local governments nationwide to prevent such residential threat crimes and enable local residents to live with peace of mind by supporting its smart home security service, 'CCTV Home.'
The CCTV Home support project targets vulnerable groups such as single women households, single-parent families, and victims of stalking and dating violence residing in the respective local governments, providing support for the installation of home security products, CCTV Home. Since February, SK Shieldus has been promoting the CCTV Home support project for single women households and single-parent families in cooperation with Busanjin-gu Office. Since last month, it has established a public-private-police cooperation system with Gangbuk-gu, Seoul, and Gangbuk Police Station to support CCTV Home for Gangbuk-gu residents who have suffered from stalking and dating violence. In addition, memorandums of understanding for CCTV Home support have been signed with Seo-gu, Gwangju, and Namdong-gu, Incheon.
Prior to this, since 2021, SK Shieldus has supported the installation of CCTV Home for 3,000 single-person households aged 18 and over living in Seoul through the Safe Door Keeper project. Support has continued for residents of Gangnam-gu, Gwangjin-gu, Dongdaemun-gu, Nowon-gu, Seodaemun-gu, Mapo-gu, Geumcheon-gu, and Yeongdeungpo-gu until last year. SK Shieldus plans to further expand the CCTV Home support project by signing memorandums of understanding with local governments such as Jung-gu Office and Dong-gu Office in Daejeon, and Naju City Hall, as well as provincial police agencies within the year.
When using CCTV Home, the AI CCTV attached to the front door and the mobile app linkage allow real-time monitoring of the situation at the front door. If a stranger other than family members is detected wandering, an alert message is sent in real time. In case of an emergency, the nearest SK Shieldus dispatch team is immediately sent to the scene.
