Why the President of Ukraine Met with Steve Jobs' Wife
Volodymyr Zelensky, President of Ukraine, met with Laurene Powell Jobs, the late Steve Jobs' widow and businesswoman, to discuss ways for Western countries to unite in supporting Ukraine amid the ongoing war with Russia.
According to the Ukrainian presidential office on the 15th (local time), President Zelensky met with Powell Jobs, the editor of the American current affairs weekly magazine 'The Atlantic,' which she owns, and the well-known American journalist Anne Applebaum.

Powell Jobs, who married Steve Jobs in 1991, is a billionaire with assets worth $12.4 billion (approximately 16 trillion KRW). Since founding the charitable organization 'Emerson Collective' in 2004, she has voiced concerns on issues such as education and the environment, and in 2017, she acquired the majority stake in The Atlantic, expanding her involvement into the field of journalism.
The presidential office stated that they shared the recognition of the importance of international solidarity in supporting Ukraine, which is at war with Russia.
President Zelensky also expressed his determination to continuously develop Ukraine's IT technology to Powell Jobs.
He said, "Ukraine must not only move forward but also leap into a modern state," adding, "I want to create an atmosphere where people can share knowledge and information and create together," according to the presidential office.
During the meeting, President Zelensky actively introduced Ukraine's IT technologies used in the war.
He stated, "We developed several technologies and utilized them in the war," and mentioned that there is currently a separate team researching these technologies. He added, "We also applied know-how related to naval drones," and "We achieved definite results."
The presidential office also reported that President Zelensky emphasized Ukraine's successful response to Russia's cyberattacks that occurred in the early stages of the conflict.

He introduced that Ukraine's IT experts and inventors actively contributed to the war, including participating in drone-related projects.
