CJ Freshway Ainuri Launches 'Cherry Tomato Growing' Kit for Arbor Day
CJ Freshway announced on the 16th that its kids' food specialty brand ‘Ainuri’ has launched a home gardening kit called ‘Growing Ssukssuk Cherry Tomatoes’ in celebration of Arbor Day.
This new product was designed to provide children with an opportunity to develop healthy eating habits by becoming familiar with vegetables and to raise awareness about environmental protection and resource circulation. The plant chosen for the kit is cherry tomatoes, known as a superfood that can be grown year-round and contains essential nutrients for growth. Following the instructions included in the kit, children can participate directly in the entire cultivation process from planting the cherry tomato seeds to harvesting the fruit.
The Growing Cherry Tomatoes kit consists of a paper bag pot, eco-friendly soil, a seed ball with a flag, and a name tag. The eco-friendly soil is an organic fertilizer made by recycling earthworm castings mixed with coffee grounds and herbal medicine residues. It uses 100% natural ingredients without any plastic or chemical components, enabling environmentally friendly plant cultivation. The seed ball is a spherical mixture of soil and seeds, characterized by a high germination rate.
The paper bag can be used both as packaging and as a pot, and by using paper material instead of plastic, it contributes to environmental protection. The outer surface of the paper bag features Ainuri’s representative characters ‘Ari’, ‘Nuri’, and ‘Broli’ growing cherry tomatoes, illustrated to allow children to freely enjoy coloring activities.
CJ Freshway sells the new product to nationwide daycare centers, kindergartens, and local children’s centers, which are Ainuri’s client institutions. The product is expected to be effectively used as material for ESG education on eating habits and environmental protection in commemoration of Arbor Day. Ainuri also plans to hold an eco-friendly eating habit contest using the kit for children’s educational institutions and the general public nationwide.
