POSCO Group Conducts Support Activities for Busan Expo Bid in Uzbekistan
POSCO Group conducted promotional activities for the '2030 Busan World Expo' bid in Uzbekistan.
Jung Tak, Vice Chairman of POSCO International and leader of the 2030 Busan Expo Support TF, visited Uzbekistan on the 13th (local time) to meet with government officials and request their cooperation.

View original imageStarting with a meeting with Hayrulla Bozarov, Governor of Fergana, on the same day, Vice Chairman Jung subsequently met with Oybek Kamrayev, Vice Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade, and Kakramon Yuldashev, Vice Minister of Agriculture, on the 14th to seek their support for the Busan Expo bid.
Vice Chairman Jung stated, "POSCO International has maintained cooperation with Uzbekistan for over 30 years since establishing its Tashkent branch in 1992, creating a special bond," and added, "The 2030 Busan Expo will be an opportunity for the Asian continental economic zone to grow together," urging their support.
Hayrulla Bozarov, Governor of Fergana, responded, "POSCO International is regarded not as a foreign company but as an Uzbek company," and expressed hope that "the Busan Expo bid will be an opportunity to widely promote Uzbekistan on the world stage alongside the Republic of Korea."
Uzbekistan is one of POSCO Group’s key negotiation countries, along with Argentina, Vietnam, and Mexico. Centered on POSCO International, various promotional activities have been carried out locally to raise awareness of the 2030 Busan Expo and create a friendly image.
A POSCO International official stated, "POSCO Group continues its 2030 Busan Expo bid activities as a private diplomat through diverse overseas businesses such as overseas resource development, food projects, and eco-friendly material trading," adding, "We plan to actively promote the Expo bid even in countries with limited exchanges with domestic companies by utilizing the company’s extensive global network."
