"Park Yeonjin Selling Club. 50,000 Won" Royal Salute Empty Bottle Sale Post Appears
Drama Prop 'Royal Salute' Empty Bottle Trade
Popular as Interior Decoration Item Since Long Ago
Since the release of Netflix drama 'The Glory' Part 2, the fashion of the characters has been a hot topic every day, and a prop used as a blunt weapon by the character 'Park Yeon-jin' has attracted attention after being listed on a secondhand market.
On the 14th, various online communities reported that a sales post titled "The Glory Park Yeon-jin Son Myeong-o Blunt Weapon for Sale" was uploaded on a secondhand trading site featuring a prop used in 'The Glory.' The sales post included a photo of a 'Royal Salute 38-Year-Old' liquor bottle.
It is said that the liquor bottle used by Park Yeon-jin (played by Lim Ji-yeon) to strike Son Myeong-o (played by Kim Geon-woo) in 'The Glory Part 2' is being sold. Secondhand trading platforms prohibit the sale of youth-harmful items such as tobacco and alcohol under the Youth Protection Act. Therefore, it is presumed that the post is selling only the empty bottle without alcohol.
Seller A described the bottle as "comfortable to grip. Perfect size for a delicate woman to swing," and quoted lines and situations from the drama, saying, "You can send a nice bastard or just a bastard with only two hits. I recommend it as a security item."
The selling price of the empty bottle is 50,000 KRW.
Empty Bottles of Premium Liquor Are Actively Traded Secondhand
Although it may seem like a joke post due to the drama's popularity, empty bottles of premium liquor have been actively traded secondhand for some time. Many people use them as interior props rather than blunt weapons because of their stylish design.
The Royal Salute 38-Year-Old has also been traded occasionally for around 50,000 KRW for several years.
'Royal Salute' means the royal salute gun, inspired by the 'gun salute' fired by the British Navy at royal and monarch events as a sign of respect. It is considered a premium whiskey, starting from the 21-year-old variant.
Meanwhile, the liquor bottle appearing in 'The Glory Part 2' has a label reading '62 Gun Salute,' which is one of the top-tier products of Royal Salute. The bottle also features 24-carat gold decorations. It was sold for about 4 million KRW when released in 2010.

However, there are criticisms that the actual 62 Gun Salute bottle differs in appearance and cap from the prop used in the drama. The bottle in the drama is believed to be a Royal Salute 38-Year-Old, priced around 650,000 KRW, with only the label replaced by a 62 Gun Salute label.
