Gangnam Police Station Conducts Traffic Safety Campaign on School Commute Routes Including Hakdong Elementary School for New Semester Start

[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Sehee] On the 13th, the Gangnam Police Station in Seoul announced that on the 10th, to mark the new school term, it conducted a joint traffic safety promotion campaign involving civilians, government, and police in the school zone of Hakdong Elementary School in Seoul.
The campaign was attended by about 60 people, including the Traffic Division, Women and Youth Division, and local police officers from Gangnam Police Station, as well as Gangnam District Office, Gangnam Seocho Education Support Office, Nonhyeon 2-dong Community Center, Model Drivers Association, teachers, and students.
The police carried out promotional activities targeting children, including the three principles of pedestrian safety and not running on crosswalks.
For drivers passing through the school zone, they distributed leaflets they had produced themselves regarding proper intersection passage.

Park Daesik, chief of Gangnam Police Station, stated, "We will continuously promote traffic safety education and awareness activities to establish a traffic culture that protects pedestrians," and added, "We will do our best to prevent pedestrian traffic fatalities by improving facilities within school zones."
