Justice Party: "Democratic Party Insults Representative Lee Jeong-mi at Forced Mobilization Rally... Lee Jae-myung Must Apologize"
"No One Takes Responsibility for Repeated Actions"
On the 12th, the Justice Party demanded an official apology from Lee Jae-myung, leader of the Democratic Party, and the Democratic Party leadership regarding Democratic Party members’ verbal abuse and jeering directed at Justice Party leader Lee Jeong-mi during a rally condemning the humiliating forced labor settlement and urging Japan to apologize and compensate.
Justice Party spokesperson Wi Seon-hee stated in a briefing that "At the rally condemning the humiliating forced labor settlement and urging Japan to apologize and compensate, severe jeering and verbal abuse were directed at Leader Lee Jeong-mi, insulting the representative of a public party, party members, and citizens. This act contaminates the earnest intentions of the citizens gathered at City Hall Square yesterday with the Democratic Party’s partisanship and seriously undermines the overall direction of the rally."
The spokesperson added, "We strongly condemn the Democratic Party’s behavior of exploiting even the public’s anger over the humiliating negotiations of the Yoon Seok-yeol government for party interests. We feel a very grave and serious sense of problem regarding the arrogant and low-level Democratic Party-style politics obsessed with political gain. Yesterday’s incident was not the first, and as it worsens, we can no longer remain silent."
He continued, "No one has taken responsibility for these repeated acts, nor has there been a proper apology. These actions caused confusion and division not only among the Justice Party but also among the citizens who participated, disrupting even the minimum democratic order. The Justice Party demands an official apology from Leader Lee Jae-myung and the Democratic Party leadership."

Spokesperson Wi concluded, "The Justice Party will steadfastly take a different path from the Democratic Party’s politics mired in partisan strife. We will firmly hold the hands of the forced labor victims, their bereaved families, and the people, and confront the Yoon Seok-yeol government’s ruinous diplomacy, comparable to treason, and Japan’s shameless behavior through straightforward and principled methods."
