Organized by the Korea Baduk Association and sponsored by Hana Bank as the title sponsor, this unique Baduk tournament targeted the MZ generation (Millennials + Generation Z), a future growth engine.
The event lasted 11 weeks from the preliminary round on December 27 last year to the final on the 10th. MZ generation professional Baduk players participated, with five players each from the M generation and Z generation forming teams, competing in a 5-on-5 consecutive win match format.
Hana Bank expects that sponsoring this tournament will contribute to popularizing Baduk by expanding its base.
For each game, Hana Bank donated an amount calculated by multiplying 10,000 KRW by the number of final moves (placing stones on the Baduk board) made by the players. The accumulated donations will be used to help vulnerable groups in our society.
In the final match of the day, Shin Jinseo 9-dan, ranked number one in the world, defeated Park Jeonghwan 9-dan, ranked number two, by resignation after 185 moves, securing the ultimate victory for the Z generation team.
