Domestic Unreleased Electric Vehicles and Battery New Business... LG Energy Solution Unveils at 'InterBattery'
Mustang Mach-E and Lucid Air Exhibited at 648㎡ Booth
"Enhancing Customer Experience with Large Digital Signage Installation"
LG Energy Solution will showcase electric vehicles and new battery service businesses not yet released in Korea at 'InterBattery 2023,' held for three days starting on the 15th at COEX in Gangnam-gu, Seoul.
The theme LG Energy Solution has set for this year is “A Global Leader Presenting a Sustainable Future Life with Innovative Battery Technology.” They plan to introduce next-generation battery and material/process innovation technologies.
Visitors to the LG Energy Solution booth can see Ford’s Mustang Mach-E and Lucid Air, a premium sedan from the American electric vehicle company Lucid Motors. These electric vehicles are equipped with LG Energy Solution batteries. Visitors can also explore the battery swapping station (BSS) being prepared for commercialization by the in-house independent company KooRoo, as well as LFP battery cells.
InterBattery, now in its 11th year, is the largest secondary battery industry exhibition in Korea. It is hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and organized by the Korea Battery Industry Association. This year, a total of 198 companies, including major domestic secondary battery manufacturers such as LG Energy Solution, and companies related to materials, equipment, and components, will participate.

The LG Energy Solution exhibition space, covering a total of 648㎡ (196 pyeong, 72 booths), will feature Ford’s Mustang Mach-E and Lucid Air, a premium sedan from the American electric vehicle company Lucid Motors, at its center.
The Mustang Mach-E is a representative product leading Ford’s transition to electric vehicles. It is a highly popular model, having been selected as the best electric vehicle by the American consumer magazine Consumer Reports last year.
LG Energy Solution supplies batteries for the Mustang Mach-E’s main sales markets in North America and Europe. As the Mustang Mach-E gained great popularity in the market, LG Energy Solution announced last year that it would more than double the size of the Ford battery production line at its Poland plant and expand supply volumes.
The Lucid Air will also be introduced for the first time in Korea. The Lucid Air is a luxury sedan launched by Lucid Motors, a new American electric vehicle company known as a super rookie in the electric vehicle market. It is a premium product boasting excellent performance and high output, equipped with LG Energy Solution’s cylindrical batteries, which have solid technological capabilities and outstanding quality competitiveness.
KooRoo, launched as an in-house company of LG Energy Solution in October last year, will showcase the BSS. The BSS is a service that enhances convenience by allowing battery packs for electric two-wheelers to be used through a swapping method rather than charging. Commercialization is targeted for this year.
LG Energy Solution’s comprehensive electric vehicle battery diagnostic service, B-Lifecare, which provides customized services such as battery remaining life and optimal driving routes for each vehicle, will also be demonstrated.
Enhancing Customer Experience Elements through Advanced Exhibition Spaces
LG Energy Solution will install large digital signage in the exhibition space to introduce visitors to the “future powered by batteries.”
Through videos incorporating anamorphic technology (an advertising technique that maximizes three-dimensional effects through optical illusions), visitors will vividly see the future transformed by batteries. Additionally, a virtual online exhibition hall using VR goggles will be prepared, allowing visitors to directly listen to explanations and experience battery technology, further enhancing customer experience elements.
The LG Energy Solution exhibition booth will be composed of the Mobility Zone, IT & New Application Zone, ESS Zone, Service Business Zone, Core Technology Zone, and ESG Zone. In the Mobility Zone, various cells and modules, including pouch-type long cells supplied to GM Hummer, will be displayed. The IT & New Application Zone will showcase small batteries for mobile phones, freeform batteries that can be flexibly bent, and curved batteries used in VR goggles.
In the ESS Zone, LG Energy Solution will introduce LFP battery cells for the first time at a domestic exhibition. Products for power grids and residential use equipped with these cells will also be displayed. In addition, next-generation batteries such as all-solid-state batteries for improved safety and high-energy-density lightweight lithium-sulfur batteries, as well as material and process innovation technologies, will be exhibited. LG Energy Solution’s ESG management, leading the way toward an eco-friendly future, will also be introduced.
