The Ministry of SMEs and Startups and the Inno-Biz Association announced on the 9th that they are recruiting 'participating companies for the 2023 first half overseas technology exchange consultation' to help domestic technology-innovative SMEs explore overseas markets and activate exports.

This technology exchange consultation, conducted as part of the Convergence Technology Exchange Promotion Project, is a government-to-government (G2G) cooperation project mainly between the Korean government and emerging developing countries. Its purpose is to export Korean technology to local companies, promoting the overseas expansion of domestic companies and technological cooperation between companies of both countries.

Since 2014, the association has participated as an executing agency of this project together with Inno-Biz companies possessing innovative technologies. It has supported over 3,000 consultations between about 900 domestic companies and overseas local companies and facilitated approximately 570 business agreements.

In the first half of this year, consultation meetings will be held targeting Uzbekistan, Vietnam, Cambodia, Indonesia, and the Philippines. Twenty SMEs from each country will be supported.

Companies participating in the overseas technology exchange consultation will receive support such as ▲matching company discovery ▲local vehicle and local language interpretation ▲rental of consultation venues ▲expert technical diagnosis. Companies participating in the consultations for Cambodia, Indonesia, and the Philippines will conduct pre-online consultations with matching companies before being dispatched locally.

SMEs wishing to participate can sign up and apply for the project on the online platform G-TEP. For the applying companies, a technical specialist coordinator will visit the site directly, diagnose the possibility of overseas export, and then participate in the project.

Kim Se-jong, Director of the Inno-Biz Policy Research Institute, said, "About half (46%) of Inno-Biz companies are export companies and are actively pursuing globalization for continuous growth," adding, "The association will take the lead in pioneering new markets through technology exchange based on the innovative technologies possessed by Inno-Biz companies."

Meanwhile, the Inno-Biz Association plans to additionally hold consultation meetings targeting T?rkiye, Armenia, Vietnam, and Indonesia in the second half of the year.
