Mokpo National University Lifelong Education Center Opens Yeongam County Residents Academy
Special Lectures by Experts from Various Fields Over 19 Sessions
National Mokpo University (President Song Ha-cheol) Lifelong Education Center and Yeongam County recently held the opening ceremony of the '2023 Yeongam County Citizens Academy Course' at the Yeongam County Comprehensive Social Welfare Center.

According to Mokpo University on the 7th, the opening ceremony, promoted as a public-private cooperation project between Yeongam County and the university, was attended by Woo Seung-hee, Mayor of Yeongam County, Ko Hwa-ja, Vice Chairperson of the Yeongam County Council, Lee Jin-hyung, Director of Mokpo University Lifelong Education Center, and about 120 enrolled students.
The Yeongam County Citizens Academy Course is conducted by Mokpo University Lifelong Education Center under the commission of Yeongam County. Citizens under the age of 65 in Yeongam County participate in the course, which runs from March to December over 10 months, consisting of a total of 19 sessions including special lectures by experts from various fields, historical and cultural experiential learning, and community service activities.

Lee Jin-hyung, Director of Mokpo University Lifelong Education Center, stated, “Through this academy course, we hope that Yeongam citizens can acquire new knowledge and wisdom necessary for personal growth and regional development in this rapidly changing era,” and added, “We will contribute to the revitalization of lifelong learning in Yeongam County through continuous cooperation with Yeongam County in the future.”
