Recently, a health food craze has been spreading among the MZ generation (Millennials + Generation Z), leading to the popularity of Greek yogurt and low-calorie products.
According to Homeplus on the 7th, the two types of Greek Day Greek yogurt launched in September last year sold about 210,000 units within six months. Homeplus has expanded its Greek yogurt product line over the past year, resulting in a 72% increase in sales compared to the previous year. Sales last month rose 59% compared to the same period last year. In the overall yogurt category, Greek yogurt's share of sales exceeded 15%.
On the 1st, Homeplus launched three types of Yogum Greek yogurt. These products include granola made with various ingredients such as compote, cacao nibs, almonds, and oats, making them perfect for a convenient meal or a hearty snack.
Sales of low-calorie instant rice and low-calorie ramen increased by 190% and 33%, respectively, compared to the same period last year. Representative products include CJ Hetbahn Oat Black Rice Konjac Rice, which contains only about 160 kcal per bowl, and udon and tom yum kung rice noodles made with glass noodles and rice noodles.
