Government Plans to Issue 14.5 Trillion Won in Treasury Bonds This Month
The government will issue government bonds worth 14.5 trillion won this month through a competitive bidding process.
The Ministry of Economy and Finance announced on the 2nd the plan to issue government bonds in March. This is an increase of 1.5 trillion won compared to last month's issuance plan of 13 trillion won. The actual issuance amount of government bonds last month was 13.4 trillion won.
According to this month's issuance plan, the amounts are as follows: 1.8 trillion won for 2-year bonds, 2.6 trillion won for 3-year bonds, 2.2 trillion won for 5-year bonds, 2.6 trillion won for 10-year bonds, 1.1 trillion won for 20-year bonds, 3.7 trillion won for 30-year bonds, and 500 billion won for 50-year bonds.
Professional dealers (PDs) and the general public can purchase a certain amount at the highest winning bid rate of each maturity through a non-competitive subscription method in addition to the competitive bidding method.

The Ministry of Economy and Finance plans to conduct exchanges of about 200 billion won between the 10-year and 20-year matured bonds and the 30-year benchmark bonds, and about 100 billion won between matured inflation-linked bonds and inflation-linked benchmark bonds to enhance liquidity of government bonds.
