Seoul City, 2023 Green Enterprise Development Support Project
Expansion of Market Development and Financial Support
Seoul City announced on the 2nd that it will promote a customized support project that directly supports the capacity building and performance creation of green small and medium-sized enterprises (including prospective startups) to resolve their difficulties and revitalize the green industry.
According to a survey conducted earlier this year targeting small and medium-sized enterprises in the green industry sector located in Seoul (36 companies responded), there was demand for ‘prototype production support,’ ‘expert consultation,’ and ‘employment creation support’ to expand business participation opportunities for green SMEs.
Based on corporate demand and last year’s project performance, Seoul City will expand and promote support projects for market development and financing that can directly compensate for the weaknesses of SMEs this year.
First, the scale of the ‘Green Products Online Exhibition,’ which played a role in promoting and developing sales channels for green SMEs, will be expanded, and three exhibitions will be held from July to November to help SMEs increase their actual sales.
In addition, a youth-tailored startup capacity-building program targeting ‘youth’ such as university startup teams, in addition to the existing supported SMEs, will be operated to foster innovative technologies and ideas and create youth jobs.
To enhance corporate image and diagnose and improve growth potential, support for securing higher grades in Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) management will be provided, and the scale of credit evaluation and technology evaluation support that can be used when bidding for public institution projects will also be expanded.
Furthermore, the operation of the ‘Green Tech Shop,’ which received great responses for implementing ideas and improving products of green SMEs and prospective entrepreneurs, will be expanded to continue supporting prototype production and consultation.
In addition, ‘in-depth consulting in management and technology fields’ will be provided, offering practical solutions to the difficulties faced by individual SMEs beyond simple counseling.
