Quarterly Payment of 250,000 Won for 'Youth Basic Income' Applications Open from the 2nd
Gyeonggi Province is accepting applications for the first quarter (January to March) of the 'Youth Basic Income,' which provides 250,000 KRW quarterly to 24-year-old youth, from the 2nd to the 31st of this month.
Eligible applicants are 24-year-old youth born between January 2, 1998, and January 1, 1999, who have continuously resided in Gyeonggi Province for more than 3 years as of the application date or whose total days of residence amount to 10 years or more, and who currently have their resident registration in Gyeonggi Province.
Applicants must sign up as members on the Gyeonggi job platform, Jobaba, and then apply online or via mobile.
Required documents include a resident registration abstract (issued after March 2, including address history for the last 5 years or the entire period).
However, since a public MyData service that simplifies document submission is being introduced and implemented, if the youth consents at the time of application, the resident registration abstract will be submitted automatically. Basic livelihood security recipients must submit certificates separately.
Existing recipients who agreed to automatic application last quarter will be subject to review without a separate application, but if there are changes in personal information or if they wish to apply retroactively for the second to fourth quarters of last year, they must update their information within this first quarter application period.
After verifying the applicant's age and residence period, the province will provide 250,000 KRW in local currency corresponding to the first quarter from the 20th of next month in the form of an electronic card or mobile payment.
Selected recipients will receive a confirmation message via text, and the card will be delivered to the address entered during application.
Once the card is received, registering it through the customer center or mobile app allows immediate use like a check card at traditional markets or small business establishments within the registered area.
However, usage is restricted at department stores, large supermarkets, corporate supermarkets (SSM), entertainment establishments, and similar venues.
