Kim Ki-moon, President of the Korea Federation of SMEs, Wins 4th Term... Elected by 'Unanimous' Vote
Kim Ki-moon, chairman of the Korea Federation of Small and Medium Business (Kbiz), was elected as the 27th chairman of Kbiz, successfully securing his fourth term.
On the 28th, Kbiz held its 61st regular general meeting at the Kbiz headquarters in Yeouido, where the current chairman Kim was elected as the 27th chairman. Kim was the sole candidate in this election. At the general meeting, 364 regular members attended and unanimously endorsed Kim as the next chairman.
Kim will serve his fourth term as Kbiz chairman, having previously held the position during the 23rd and 24th terms (2007?2014) and the 26th term (2019?2022). His term will last until February 2027.
In his acceptance speech, Kim said, "I believe this re-election is the result of the members' trust in my efforts over the past four years and the previous eight years. I will work hard again during this term to repay that trust by supporting small and medium enterprises and cooperatives."
Born in 1955 in Jeungpyeong, Chungbuk, Kim founded J.ESTINA (formerly Romanson) in 1988, growing it into a mid-sized company specializing in watches and jewelry. From April 1998 to February 2007, he served as chairman of the Korea Watch Industry Cooperative.
Meanwhile, at the regular general meeting, the 2023 business plan and budget for Kbiz were finalized. Additionally, five non-standing vice chairmen and 19 non-standing directors were newly elected. Awards were also presented to outstanding contributors to cooperatives.
