Changwon Special City to Fully Implement Public Job Projects in the First Half Starting March
807 Final Candidates Selected Including Employment-Vulnerable Groups and Youth
Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam will invest a budget of 3.8 billion KRW this year to fully implement the first half public job project for four months from March 2 to June 30.
A total of 3,208 people applied for the first half public job project, and after screening based on selection criteria such as household income and property, whether they belong to the lower-income class, and the number of times they participated in the same type of direct job, a total of 807 people were selected, including 689 for public work and 118 for community jobs.
The selected participants will be assigned to a total of 273 workplaces including environmental maintenance projects, recyclable waste sorting work, and administrative informatization projects, where they will receive industrial accident-related safety education and perform their duties.
Wages will be paid based on participant type (▲Youth - 6 hours per day ▲General - 4 hours per day ▲Elderly - 3 hours per day) applying the 2023 minimum wage (9,620 KRW per hour), along with snack allowances. Other working conditions will follow the Labor Standards Act and internal project guidelines.

Na Jae-yong, Director of the Economic and Job Bureau, said, “We aim to help stabilize the livelihoods of vulnerable employment groups through the public job project,” adding, “Even after the project ends, we will continue to encourage job-seeking activities such as participation in the National Employment Support System to support re-entry into the job market.”
