Large supermarkets are offering up to 50% discounts on high-quality pork in celebration of 'SamSam Day.'
According to the industry on the 27th, Emart will sell domestically produced chilled pork belly and neck meat (100g), selected as grade 1 or higher, at a 40% discount when purchased with the event card and a 50% discount when purchased with a KB Kookmin Card from the 1st to the 5th of next month.
The event prices are up to 50.6% cheaper compared to the average retail price, and the prepared quantity has been increased by about 10% compared to last year's sales volume, with 500 tons ready. Additionally, all domestically produced frozen pork products will be sold at a 20% discount with the event card and a 30% discount with the KB Kookmin Card.
Emart is also holding a Hanwoo sirloin event. Grade 1 Hanwoo sirloin for grilling, 700g, is sold for 47,980 KRW, and grade 1+ Hanwoo sirloin for grilling, 700g, is sold for 52,980 KRW.
Lotte Mart and Lotte Super offer a 50% discount on domestically produced chilled pork belly and neck meat when paying with the event card. The two companies have jointly sourced about 500 tons, the largest volume ever, to offer customers affordable pork. The procured raw materials are processed at the Fresh Quality Innovation Center operated by Lotte Mart, reducing distribution steps and further enhancing cost competitiveness.
Frozen U.S. beef LA-style ribs are sold at a 50% discount when paying with the event card. After quickly identifying the price bottom following the holiday, about 200 tons were purchased in bulk to offer this half-price event.
Lotte On is also holding a Samgyeopsal Day event. During the event period, domestically produced and imported pork belly from brands such as Dodram Handon and Nonghyup Livly will be offered at discounts of up to 50%.
