[Asia Economy Reporter Yu Je-hoon] Mike Gallagher, chairman of the U.S. House Special Committee on the Strategic Competition between the United States and China, stated in an interview with the Washington Post (WP) on the 22nd (local time) that Taiwan should be armed to prevent China's invasion of Taiwan.
According to the report, Chairman Gallagher said in the interview, "The best way to prevent (China's) invasion of Taiwan and to stop World War III is to provide Taiwan with substantial military power." Gallagher had previously visited Taiwan for four days.
