[Mania] Turning Your Home into a Cinema with JBL Technology... Feel Vibrations Even from Heartbeats
New Product JBL BAR 1300
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Sunmi] Unlike typical speakers, soundbars have a bar-shaped design. They are products designed to complement the weak output and sound quality of built-in TV speakers, allowing users to enhance audio by connecting them to the TV. Harman's JBL brand new soundbar, which delivers immersive sound, offers performance beyond just supplementing TV audio. It felt as if the 'thumping' heartbeat of the TV protagonist was amplified by the mid-bass effects and could be felt as vibrations through the speaker.
Among the four newly launched JBL soundbar models released this month, the most premium is the JBL BAR 1300. It features next-generation technology where sound circulates around the user in a three-dimensional space, allowing you to experience a different level of immersive 3D surround sound at home, as if you were in a movie theater with sound echoing off the walls. At first glance, this product looks like a single long speaker, but the surround speakers connected by magnets at both ends can be easily detached.
The main soundbar was placed in front of the TV, and the surround speakers were connected to both ends of the sofa. When a lively scene unfolded with the protagonist singing, the main vocals and surrounding sounds were separated and heard in a three-dimensional manner. Until now, watching movies at home meant experiencing flat sound where all sounds mixed from a single speaker, but with this soundbar, all sounds spread out and were vividly immersive, as if the sound was coming from above the head.
When a scene showed the protagonist’s heartbeat quickening in fear, the deep and grand bass sound from the subwoofer created a 'thump-thump, boom-boom' vibration that enveloped the entire living room. In movie theaters, scary scenes mainly rely on immersive large screens, and sound often gets drowned out by ambient noise, but with the soundbar, the audio felt like my own heartbeat, accompanied by vibrations. The sound seemed to hit not just the ears but directly the heart.
The bass level can be adjusted in five steps using the remote control. Even when background sounds played and the protagonist whispered softly, JBL’s unique 'Pure Voice' feature made the small but clear sound audible. This product delivers a maximum output of 1170W, vividly conveying a wide range of sounds from quiet whispers to explosive blasts. It provides immersive and realistic experiences not only for movies but also for music, games, and any other content. If the surround sound feels overwhelming for all video content, you can switch to standard mode when watching news or similar programs to reduce sound effects.
The JBL BAR 1300 offers excellent connectivity, making setup and placement easy. Installation involves simply plugging in the power and connecting one HDMI cable simultaneously to the TV and speaker. The best Dolby ATMOS and DTS:X environments are achievable with just one HDMI cable. It supports Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Chromecast built-in, AirPlay, Alexa multi-room music, and more, allowing easy streaming of most online content.
The detachable surround speakers are wireless speakers with battery charging, capable of up to 10 hours of playback on a single charge. The surround speakers can be charged by docking with the main speaker or via USB cable connection. The main soundbar stays in the living room, and the surround speakers can be detached and used independently by connecting to a smartphone via Bluetooth whenever needed.
