Dong-A University Hosts 'Singapore Global Startup Program'
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] The Dong-A University Industry-Academic Cooperation Leading University Development Project Group (LINC 3.0) recently conducted a global startup program in Singapore.
This program was designed to share and strengthen university entrepreneurship education collaboration, provide practical entrepreneurship competency opportunities through global market exploration for promising student startup teams, and cultivate global entrepreneurship spirit by exploring the Singapore startup ecosystem.
The program was jointly hosted by Dong-A University LINC 3.0 Project Group, Dongguk University LINC 3.0 Project Group, Chungbuk National University LINC 3.0 Project Group, and the Korea Entrepreneurship Education Association. Participating universities also signed an MOU with ‘Nanyang Technological University (Su Renewable Laboratory at Nanyang Technology University MAE)’.
These universities agreed to jointly operate entrepreneurship competency enhancement programs, continuously build networks, and seek ways to develop entrepreneurship education to establish a collaborative system for nurturing global talents with expertise and international sensibility.

View original imageThe ‘Singapore Eureka! LINC 3.0 University Alliance Global Startup Camp’ included 16 promising startup clubs with a total of 28 participants selected from each university’s ‘2022 Ministry of Education Student Promising Startup Teams 300’ and others.
Participants attended a special lecture on ‘Startup Strategies Using Big Data’ held at the National University of Singapore (NUS).
Afterwards, they visited Singapore’s startup support space ‘Block71’, conducted market research on startup items, explored the Singapore startup ecosystem, and had the opportunity to cultivate a global entrepreneurial spirit.
Park Jun-hong, head of Dong-A University LINC 3.0 Project Group, said, “The local exploration in Singapore, where startup and startup investment are active, provided a valuable opportunity to experience the latest global startup environment and culture and broaden students’ perspectives. We will continue to prepare programs to nurture global talents with expertise and international sensibility and strive to strengthen student capabilities.”

At the camp, Jeong Han-hyun, a master’s student in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Dong-A University, received the ‘MOST CREATIVE’ award, and Kim Dong-young, a student in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, received the ‘MOST CHALLENGE’ award.
