[Gangjin=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-su] Gangjin-gun, Jeollanam-do, plans to showcase menus using Gangjin's specialty products at the 'Food Town' within the 51st Gangjin Celadon Festival, held from the 23rd of this month to the 1st of next month.

According to the county on the 16th, the foods to be presented at the festival include △ fermented skate three-way set, fermented skate barley soup, shiitake sweet and sour pork △ mudskipper soup, aged kimchi sprout abalone rice △ assorted Korean beef stone plate grill, beef bulgogi rice bowl, and △ the Red Cross Volunteer Society will offer snack menus targeting the MZ generation such as emperor ramen, maesaengi rice cake soup, fish cake, and assorted fried foods.
On the 13th, the county invited a professional chef to provide recipe training and operational know-how for 15 members of the Red Cross Volunteer Society on dishes such as emperor ramen, fish cake, and tteokbokki.
On the 14th, a tasting event was held at Hana Garden to identify and address any issues in advance.
Jo Seong-sook, president of the Gangjin Red Cross Volunteer Society, said, “We participated to raise sales revenue during the festival period to be used for good causes, but it is no easy task. We will diligently practice what we learned today to prepare well and provide delicious food to tourists.”
Lee Jun-beom, director of Culture and Tourism, said, “As the festival period shifts from summer to winter, the menu has been composed mainly of warm dishes. We will fully demonstrate the taste and skills with foods unique to Gangjin and strictly maintain hygiene.”
Meanwhile, the Gangjin-gun Food Hygiene Team plans to operate a Customer Satisfaction Center within Food Town during the festival period to guide kindness and hygiene and provide food that tourists can enjoy with peace of mind.
