Establishment of Night Classes and Expansion of Enrollment Capacity to Increase Participation Opportunities for Workers and Students
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Dongguk Lee] At the Gumi Seongrihak History Museum, from the 20th of this month to March 3rd, they are recruiting students for the first half of the year education program targeting Gumi citizens such as office workers and students.
This course consists of six subjects, including the Seongrihak Academy where participants can feel the heritage of ancient sages and create a wise and creative future, a total of 12 humanities liberal arts lectures exploring the philosopher Mencius, and calligraphy, wood carving, hanji craft, and Korean painting education experiences with professional instructors, which will be operated from March 14th to June 9th.
The enrollment capacity for the first half of this year is planned to be 60 for the Seongrihak Academy, 100 for the humanities liberal arts lectures, and 15 each for calligraphy, traditional wood carving, hanji craft, and Korean painting, totaling 220 students.
Since its inception in 2021, more than 400 students have taken the Seongrihak education program over four sessions, and this year, the humanities liberal arts lectures have changed from the usual weekday morning schedule to evening hours (7 PM to 9 PM), allowing office workers and students who wanted to participate but could not due to weekday daytime classes to join.
With the relaxation of COVID-19 quarantine guidelines allowing the removal of distancing between seats, the enrollment capacity for the humanities liberal arts lectures has increased from 60 to 100, expanding educational participation opportunities for students.
Applications can be made by visiting in person or through the Gumi Seongrihak History Museum website, and except for separate material costs, the tuition fee is free.
