'Maximus' Lee Jun-seok, This Time Saying "Feels Like 'Ben-Hur' Training 4 Horses"
"Cheon Haram Is Not a Delusional Patient... Rapid Increase in Recognition"
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Ji-eun] Former People Power Party leader Lee Jun-seok recently compared himself to the protagonist Ben-Hur from the movie 'Ben-Hur,' who trains four horses received from a chieftain to compete in a chariot race, in relation to his influence exerted by fielding four candidates in the recent party convention. Lee has actively used movie-related metaphors in the past, including likening himself to 'Maximus' from the film Gladiator.
On the 16th, on BBS's 'Jeon Young-shin's Morning Journal,' Lee said, "As I try to support four candidates simultaneously during the party convention season, the difficulty of the elections I experience seems to be increasing."
He added, "Running an election alone means I can just make decisions and act, but this time I have to evenly promote four candidates. To make an analogy, in the classic old movie 'Ben-Hur,' the protagonist receives four horses from a chieftain and trains them together to compete in a chariot race."
Lee often compares his situation to old movie protagonists. Last year, he likened himself to Maximus, the gladiator protagonist of the movie 'Gladiator,' and President Yoon Seok-yeol to the villainous Roman emperor 'Commodus.'
Regarding candidate Cheon Ha-ram, whom he supports and who confidently claims a '60% vote share,' Lee said, "Candidate Cheon is not a patient with megalomania. It seems he has a good sense of the atmosphere on the ground. While some of it might be exaggeration to boost morale, when I visit the field, I feel Cheon's recognition is rapidly increasing."

About candidate Ahn Cheol-soo, he said he would refrain from commenting for a while. He stated, "I plan not to mention candidate Ahn for at least one to two weeks. Yesterday, from my perspective, it seemed less that candidate Ahn exposed weaknesses in the debate and more that he appeared to be experiencing some psychological conflict. Since he is often labeled as an adversary even in Yongsan, it seems to be a point causing him significant psychological stress."
