Waiting for Global Curriculum... Dong-A University Conducts 'Smart Healthcare' in Japan
LINC3.0 Project Group, Seminar for 6 Convergence Major Students Visiting Jangsu Medical Research Center and Companies
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] Students majoring in Smart Healthcare Convergence at Dong-A University finally broke down the COVID-19 barrier and flew to Japan to participate in a global experience program.
Dong-A University (President Lee Hae-woo) Industry-Academia-Research Cooperation Leading University (LINC 3.0) Promotion Project Group (Director Park Jun-hong) announced on the 14th that it operated a global program in Japan for students majoring in 'Smart Healthcare' convergence.
Under the guidance of Professor Bae Seong-ryu from the Department of Health Management, six students majoring in Smart Healthcare Convergence participated. The program, held from the 6th to the 11th in Osaka and Nagoya, Japan, consisted of education, experiences, and seminars utilizing Japan's digital technology, ICT, and IoT technologies.
Through this program, they visited the Japan National Center for Geriatrics and Gerontology, DENSO, and DAIKIN ICT.
At the Japan National Center for Geriatrics and Gerontology, they studied the Nagoya regional cohort and intervention sites using health promotion applications and content, and conducted joint topic seminars related to verifying the effects of intervention research.
They also visited DENSO, a leading company in Japanese robot technology, where they received education on automobile parts manufacturing using robot technology and conducted a joint project on the application of this technology in the smart healthcare robot automation field.
At DAIKIN ICT, they learned about technology using oxygen and aroma and held technology-related seminars linked with five major Japanese universities, including the University of Tokyo, Kyoto University, and Osaka University.
Students majoring in the Dong-A University LINC 3.0 'Smart Healthcare' convergence program and officials from the National Center for Geriatrics and Gerontology in Aichi Prefecture, Japan, are taking a commemorative photo.
View original imageProfessor Bae said, "It is meaningful as it laid the foundation for nurturing future talents with creative comprehensive design capabilities," and added, "We will also activate the development of major courses related to technology regulations in the smart healthcare field through continuous exchanges with Japanese digital companies."
Student Oh Se-heon (3rd year, Department of Health Management), who participated in the program, shared, "Through the cognitive function test program related to dementia prevention at the Japan National Center for Geriatrics and Gerontology, it was a good program that made me think about what we need to learn to prepare for an aging society and ways to develop the healthcare field in our country."

The Dong-A University LINC 3.0 Project Group operates various global programs so that students majoring in specialized convergence fields can grow into creative talents with a global sense, and plans to expand projects further this year following the COVID-19 endemic.
