NC Picture Book 'Isaga' Wins Award at Bologna Children's Book Fair
[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] NCSoft (hereinafter NC) announced on the 14th that its published picture book Isaga (Moving Away·Author Ji-yeon Lee) won the Bologna Ragazzi Award Special Mention in the Fiction category at the 2023 Bologna International Children’s Book Fair.
The Bologna International Children’s Book Fair is the world’s largest specialized children’s book fair held every March in Bologna, Italy. The Bologna Ragazzi Award is one of the top three global children’s literature awards. This year, 2,349 works were submitted by 644 publishers from 59 countries worldwide.
The Special Mention in the Fiction category, awarded to Isaga, recognizes works with outstanding creativity, artistry, and editorial content.
Isaga is a picture book depicting a parade of ants marching in a line in the yard and their adventurous journey. Readers can observe the ants’ journey unfolding anew as they turn each page of the long folding screen?style book. All pages can be spread out to view as one giant panorama. The jury of the Bologna Book Fair praised Isaga for its original and beautiful design.
NC’s Smiling Peanut Planning Office has published a total of 12 picture books since 2015, based on various educational contents accumulated through operating an in-house daycare center and the know-how of developing its own foreign language program, the NC KongKong Curriculum.
