Homeplus announced on the 14th that online sales of traditional snacks such as rice cakes and yakgwa are increasing as the Halmaennial trend spreads.
According to Homeplus, online sales of yakgwa last month increased by 73% compared to the same period last year. During the same period, sales of old-fashioned snacks and Sikhye also rose by 87% and 47%, respectively.
A representative product is the ‘Ariul Tteok Workshop Non-Hardening Rice Cake’ launched in January. It applies patented technology that prevents hardening, preserving a chewy texture, and achieved sales exceeding 200 million won within three weeks of release.
