Landslide Risk Map Indicating Landslide Hazard Levels by Region
[Asia Economy Reporter Ra Young-cheol] Gangwon Province announced on the 14th that "starting from the 15th, it will publicly operate the 'Landslide Information System' through internet portal sites so that the public can easily understand the risk of landslide occurrence during typhoons or heavy rainfall."
The 'Landslide Information System' consists of landslide forecast alerts, landslide occurrence trends and major landslide damage cases, landslide data room, and participation space. The system was established by the Korea Forest Service and is operated by each city and province.
The province expects that the public operation of the landslide risk map will be highly effective in protecting valuable lives and property during periods of heavy rainfall or typhoons, when landslide occurrence frequency is high.
