Ulsan Office of Education Strengthens Personalized Career Education
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] The Ulsan Metropolitan Office of Education will strengthen personalized career education this year to enhance students' self-directed career development capabilities.
The Ulsan Metropolitan Office of Education has established the '2023 Ulsan Career Education Basic Plan' and will operate various programs in four areas: strengthening school career education, creating a career experience ecosystem, expanding entrepreneurship experience education in elementary and secondary schools, and expanding career education infrastructure.
First, in the area of strengthening school career education, Hwabong High School was selected as a research school for the new project of developing a career-linked education model, which will be operated for two years starting in March.
In addition, a career support group composed of 25 secondary school career teachers will be operated to expand customized career counseling for students and parents at the Ulsan Career and College Admission Support Center.
In the area of creating a career experience ecosystem, a new project will develop and distribute career experience programs in new industry fields. New industry fields include Artificial Intelligence (AI), Extended Virtual World (Metaverse), Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR), semiconductors, new materials, autonomous vehicles, drones, and renewable energy.
For student-customized career experiences, programs such as Career Exploration Teams for elementary schools, Self-Understanding Based Career Solid Camp for middle schools, and Visiting Celebrity Career Special Lectures for high schools will also be operated.
In the area of expanding entrepreneurship experience education in elementary and secondary schools, support for university-linked entrepreneurship club mentoring activities will be expanded to prepare for the 2023 Korea Youth Entrepreneurship Competition.
Furthermore, a close collaboration system will be established with entrepreneurship experience education-focused schools, Ulsan Entrepreneurship Experience Center, Entrepreneurship Spirit Cultivation Education Support Group, and local universities to create a regional community entrepreneurship experience education ecosystem.
In the area of expanding career education infrastructure, support will be provided for the operation of the Ulsan Career and College Admission Support Center, five district and county career experience support centers, and the Ulsan Entrepreneurship Experience Center.
Utilizing the career experience site 'Kkumgil,' the operation of career experience places, career experience programs, and career and entrepreneurship experience mentoring will be expanded. A career mentor human resource pool of 1,221 people will be formed, and schools will be linked with career experience places to support student-customized career exploration and career experience activities.
