Elderly people, pregnant women, infants, and residents with disabilities have difficulty passing through if the building entrance is high. Safety accidents such as tripping over the threshold may also occur.
The county plans to resolve such inconveniences by supporting portable ramps at building entrances of frequently used facilities such as hospitals, beauty salons, and restaurants.
The first priority for support is small-scale convenience facilities with a total floor area of 50㎡ or less. Apartment complexes with a total floor area of 100㎡ are the second priority, and facilities under the Convenience Act for the disabled are the third priority.
Applications can be submitted by visiting the Eup/Myeon Administrative Welfare Center in person by the 17th.
The county plans to complete on-site visits next month and make the final decision on support targets. The total project scale is 60 locations, with a limit of 700,000 KRW per location, and the entire project cost of 42 million KRW is budgeted from the county funds.
In the case of hygiene businesses, ramp installation can also be supported through the 'Environmental Improvement Support Project.'
This project was newly established this year and is fully funded by provincial funds with no self-payment required.
County Governor Kim Hanjong said, "We will take the lead in creating a barrier-free living environment and make Jangseong a happy and safe place for all residents."
