Over 5,000 Loans Reached at Air Busan e-Library... "Haneul Bookstore" Most Read
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] Air Busan's electronic book service, launched last year as the first among domestic airlines, has surpassed 5,000 cumulative loans.
Air Busan announced on the 7th that the number of loans for the Sky Bookstore service increased by about 30% compared to the previous month in January.
Since the full-scale launch of the service in June last year, the cumulative number of members has exceeded 3,000, and the number of users is increasing through word of mouth.
Air Busan's 'Sky Bookstore' service allows any Air Busan member to borrow and read e-books using smart devices such as smartphones and tablet PCs, regardless of boarding.
Users can enjoy a total of 255,482 electronic books, including e-books, audiobooks, and academic papers, for free. After downloading the e-books, they can be accessed even without an internet connection on the plane, providing an advantage of alleviating boredom during flights.
Air Busan selects and recommends books each month based on a set theme so that users can encounter good books.
This month's recommended book theme is 'Western Classics,' featuring timeless famous Western classic literary works such as ▲George Orwell's Animal Farm, ▲Hermann Hesse's Demian, and ▲Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice.
Analysis of cumulative loans from Sky Bookstore shows that the most popular genre is novels, with users preferring light popular fiction, and since the beginning of the year, loans of 'self-development' genre books have also increased.
An Air Busan official said, "As the only domestic airline providing an electronic book loan service, we expect it to help not only secure loyal customers but also contribute to the public interest by spreading reading culture."
He added, "This year, we plan to hold various offline events such as in-flight events to further spread a culture of easy and enjoyable reading."
To use Sky Bookstore, log in to the Air Busan app and click 'Sky Bookstore' under the 'Service Guide' category.
